Swimming Birthday Party
Celebrate your child’s birthday at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre! Swimming birthday parties are a fun and easy way to host a group, with access to the pool during a public swim and a private room for your party.
Birthday Party Overview
- Room rentals are booked in advance and must be prepaid at the time of booking (swim admissions are paid separately and on the day of)
- Regular pool admission rates apply for all swimmers and to be paid on the party day at the time of swimming with Front Desk staff
- Groups should be kept to 25 swimmers or fewer
NAC Room Rentals are for 3 hours, this allows time for set up/party/clean up, $53.10 + GST (rates effective Sep 2026-Aug 2027). If you would like to extend the amount of time in the room please inquire directly with the Aquatics Allocation Clerk (contact details below).
- Two choices per day for weekend birthday bookings at NAC: Saturdays or Sundays, Room 12:30-3:30pm with swim at 1pm, or Room 5:00-8:00pm with swim at 5pm; One choice for Fridays at NAC: Room 5-8pm, swim at 5pm
- Includes tables, chairs, sink, and counter space
- No kitchen or appliances are available
- Please bring a cooler if refrigeration is required
- Setup and cleanup must be completed within the 3 hours the room is booked
Setup and Cleanup Responsibilities
- Renter is responsible for setup and takedown in the room
- Tables and chairs must be wiped down before leaving, cleaning supplies are in the room
- All garbage must be bagged and left in the room
- Extra garbage bags are provided
Decorations
- Only painter’s tape (green tape) is permitted
- No scotch tape or strong adhesives
- No nails, staples, or thumbtacks allowed
Pool Guidelines
- Children under 7 must have an adult within arm’s reach
- All pool safety rules must be followed
- A wristband system may be used during high-capacity periods

Host a child’s birthday at the Beban Park Pool! Review the Recreation Facilities & Schedules to find a Beban Pool-Everyone Welcome Swim you would like to attend with your group. Check for Swim Meets and Special Events to avoid as admission is not guaranteed and busy event days will be difficult to attend. Please arrive early to purchase your swim admissions ahead of the planned swim.
Once you have reviewed the Pool schedule and have chosen a few date options you'd like to host your party, contact our Beban Social Centre Allocation Clerk 250-756-5202 to inquire about renting a room to coordinate with the Everyone Welcome swim you will be attending, or use the button above to submit a Room Rental Request.
