Multiple myeloma is a rare, generally incurable blood cancer that develops in the bone marrow, where cancerous plasma cells multiply uncontrollably. These cells crowd out healthy blood cells, create harmful M proteins that damage kidneys, and trigger bone destruction. Key symptoms include bone pain, infections, fatigue, and anemia.
