We are unable to accept credit card payments for property taxes and user rates.

Property taxes and user rates

Here's how you can pay your property taxes and user rates:

1. In person

2. Preauthorized payment plans

User rates: An equal payment instalment plan and an auto debit plan are available for user rate payments. Fill out the preauthorized payment plan form and return it to the Finance Department with a void cheque.

Property taxes: To prepay your property taxes, an instalment plan is available.The suggested monthly amount will be indicated on your Property Tax Notice. Please fill out the preauthorized payment plan form and return it to the Finance Department with a void cheque.

3. Financial institution, online or telephone banking

Bring your slip to the bank when making a payment. The folio number is your account number. For online payments, please allow up to 10 business days for your payment to be processed.

Please note, most banks are no longer accepting the Home Owner Grant application. You can send you can send the application through Canada Post regular mail.

Payments must be received in our office by the due date. Please allow sufficient time for payments to be received. Post marks are not accepted.

Property taxes only

4. Mortgage company

If your mortgage company pays your taxes on your behalf, their name should be listed on the front of the tax notice. 

Please note that is your responsibility to apply for your Home Owner’s Grant by the tax due date.

5. Deferment program

If you regularly defer your taxes, a renewal form is required each year. The Province will send you a renewal form. If you did not receive your renewal form, or for more information, please visit the Province's Property Tax Deferral Program website.
