Keep Nanaimo Clean

We are working to keep our city clean with the Keep Nanaimo Clean campaign. The campaign aims to eliminate litter and improve the cleanliness of Nanaimo. These are ambitious goals but, with your help, we can achieve them. Please take a look at some of our recent posters that were developed to make people think twice before they create litter. You are free to print these images and use them to help us keep Nanaimo clean.

Carry Out Service

The City of Nanaimo provides this service to individual residents that meet the program requirements to assist with collection of curbside waste.  Only certain medical conditions qualify. If you require assistance with getting your waste collected, please contact the Public Works Department.

Single Use Carryout Bags

The Single Use Carryout Bag project is on hold, following proposals for single-use plastics bans by the Provincial and Federal governments.

Thank you to the community members and business owners that provided input on how best to manage the many challenges that single-use plastic bags create in our City and beyond.
