Manager, Engineering Projects
City of Nanaimo

"FortisBC is working closely with the contractor and the City of Nanaimo to minimize traffic interruptions and complete the work as safely and quickly as possible. This project is part of the regular maintenance required to ensure continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in the region. The existing pipe has been in continuous service since it was first installed in 1957 and the replacement work will extend service for decades to come. FortisBC does not anticipate any service disruption to customers as a result of construction."
