A statement from Mayor Krog following the tragic incident in Tumbler Ridge

On behalf of Council and the City of Nanaimo, I extend our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to the residents, families and loved ones affected by the devastating event in Tumbler Ridge. Communities across British Columbia are grieving and Nanaimo stands with them during this difficult time.

As a sign of our solidarity and compassion, the City of Nanaimo has lowered all flags to half‑mast and they will remain lowered until further notice.
