City of Nanaimo seeks judicial review of recent Human Rights Tribunal decision

Nanaimo City Council met in a special session today and voted to seek judicial review of the decision of the BC Human Rights Tribunal concerning the termination of the City’s former Chief Financial Officer.

The City has been considering its options since receiving the decision. Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City, the City’s staff and the citizens of the community to seek such review.

The City will not be commenting further on this case as long as it is before the courts.
