City seeking public nominations for 2020 Culture & Heritage Awards

Summary
The City of Nanaimo is currently seeking public nominations for the 2020 Culture & Heritage Awards. The awards recognize outstanding organizations, groups and individuals in the arts, culture & heritage fields.
This is your opportunity to recognize people and groups you believe have made a significant contribution to making Nanaimo a culturally vibrant city. There are five potential categories to nominate from, and recipients will be recognized at a special celebration at the Port Theatre in April 2020:
- EXCELLENCE IN CULTURE
- HONOUR IN CULTURE
- EMERGING CULTURAL LEADER (under 30 years of age)
- HONOUR IN HERITAGE
- JOHN THOMSON HERITAGE MEMORIAL
Nomination forms are available online (www.nanaimo.ca/culture-environment/awards), attached to this press release, in person at the Service & Resource Centre (411 Dunsmuir Street) or by contacting us directly. The deadline for nomination submission is Wednesday, October 30, 2019 (4:00 pm).
