Warming centre opens for residents without power

Summary

Nanaimo residents still without power can warm up in the Beban Park Social Lounge today. Nanaimo Community Assistance Program volunteers will be on-hand to manage the centre.

The Nanaimo Community Assistance program provides residents with short-term support during emergencies. The City recognizes that many homes without power may be getting cold and are opening up the centre to provide an opportunity for residents to get together in a warm setting.
