Living History Speaker series returns

Popular free event to be held the last four Tuesdays in October

The City of Nanaimo and Seniors Connect is thrilled to announce that the popular Living History Speaker Series will return in October 2018!

Please join us at the Nanaimo Rugby Club (6700 Dover Road) for four wonderful nights of speakers sharing stories about their personal history and about the history of Vancouver Island. This FREE event will be held on the last four Tuesdays in October (October 9, 16, 23, 30) from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for people to come out and enjoy an entertaining evening at no cost,” said John Horn, Social Planner, “A great thing about this series is we get to learn more about members of our community and our shared history."

Each night will feature three speakers sharing true stories from their personal lives or the history of Vancouver Island. If you would like to be a speaker at a future series or need more information about the events, please contact Social Planning at 250-755-4464.

The Living History Speaker Series, first held in November 2016 and February 2017, promotes Nanaimo's cultural vitality and community wellness by fostering social connectedness and is supported by the City of Nanaimo and Seniors Connect, with funding from Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
