Crews Respond to Fire at Tent City

Summary

Shortly after 11:45 pm on Thursday, June 28, Nanaimo Fire Rescue crews responded to a structure fire (tent) at Nanaimo Discontent City at 1 Port Drive. Upon arrival the tent had a small smouldering fire inside where one person was sleeping, they were not injured. The cause of the fire is undetermined, however, witness accounts state it could have been a candle or a lit cigarette.
