Public invited to discussion on Nanaimo Harbour

Earlier this year, Nanaimo City Council passed a motion to support the Greater Nanaimo Harbour Association's exploration of a potential not-for-profit society to manage Nanaimo's water lot properties. As per this motion, the City of Nanaimo, in partnership with Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Nanaimo Marina Association is participating in a public forum entitled "The Future of Nanaimo Harbour" on Saturday, September 30.

"As ‘The Harbour City’, the City of Nanaimo cares deeply about the environmental and economic sustainability and viability of the harbour and waterfront," said Tracy Samra, Chief Administrative Officer, "The harbour is a cherished space of the city and is at the heart of our identity as citizens of Nanaimo."

The forum, being held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre's Shaw Auditorium, will include presentations from subject matter experts from Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo.
