Winter Wonderland returns for another year

The City of Nanaimo Parks and Recreation department is pleased to bring back the popular Winter Wonderland skating event running from December 26 to 30. This year's fantasy theme will see Frank Crane Arena transformed into a variation of "Whoville".

This yearly event is an opportunity for the community and businesses to come together to offer residents the chance to skate at various sponsored sessions. Activities over the five days include $1 skating sessions with some free sessions included, free helmet and skate rentals throughout, a Pancake Breakfast, prize giveaways by PepsiCo and the Archie Johnstone Plumbing and Heating Christmas Tree.

Sponsors for Winter Wonderland include: PepsiCo, Tim Hortons, Archie Johnstone Plumbing & Heating Ltd, Caledonia Fire Protection, CIMCO, Roto-Rooter, Heatherbrae Builders, Long Lake Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, Ocean's Edge Orthodontics, Miranda Construction, PlanetClean, Ryan Vending, Shaw Electrical Services, VIU, Windley Construction, Nanaimo News Bulletin and Island Radio (The Wolf 106.9 FM and the Wave 102.3 FM).

Strategic Link: Winter Wonderland supports Recreation, Culture, Sports and Tourism and Community Building Partnerships.
