The Property Tax Deadline is Fast Approaching

Summary

July 3, 2018 marks the due date to pay property taxes and, for those eligible, claim the Home Owner Grant. Provincial Legislation requires the City to apply a penalty on any outstanding 2018 tax amounts after this date.

Payments can be made through internet banking, by using the drop box that is available 24/7 at 411 Dunsmuir Street, or by visiting the Service and Resource Centre on Dunsmuir Street. Payments are also accepted at most financial institutions.

Home Owner Grants can be claimed online at www.nanaimo.ca/goto/hog, by using the drop box or by visiting the Service and Resource Centre. Residents who are eligible for the grant must claim it each year to avoid penalties.
