Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Fleet Maintenance Foreman, the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic performs major overhauls, minor repairs and welding to various equipment; repairs or overhauls engine and power train component parts; carries out road tests, performs preventative maintenance inspections, signs off work as a Commercial Vehicle Inspector, services the various vehicles and equipment, and writes repair orders and parts order requests.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed Grade 12, possess a valid British Columbia Journeyman Certificate of Qualifications in Heavy Duty, Commercial Transport or Automotive Mechanics, and have a minimum of 2 years’ related experience.

The incumbent must possess a valid BC Provincial Commercial Vehicle Inspectors Certificate as well as a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Endorsement.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position.  $37.58 per hour - after Probation (Jul 2016 Rate), based on a 40 hour work week.  A comprehensive benefit package is included.
