City accepting applications for 2017 downtown event funding

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is now accepting applications from community organizations seeking financial assistance to support downtown Nanaimo events through the Downtown Event and Revitalization Fund.

Guidelines, criteria and application forms can be found on the City's website, attached to this news release, in person at the Service & Resource Centre (411 Dunsmuir Street) or by contacting the Community and Cultural Planning section of the Community Development Department directly.

Link to Strategic Plan: These programs support Cultural Vitality, one of the four pillars of the 2012-2015 Corporate Strategic Plan. As well, they support the 2014-2020 Cultural Plan for a Creative Nanaimo's strategy to support ongoing and stable core funding to non-profit arts and cultural organizations to enable them to leverage funding from other sources.
