Windstorm clean up in Nanaimo's parks

Nanaimo experienced a significant windstorm on Tuesday, March 24, resulting in a number of fallen trees and debris in many of our parks. Crews are out in a number of parks inspecting trees for safety and damage. Later in the week, crews will move onto clean up of debris.

Please use caution in treed areas and all areas marked with caution tape. The public is encouraged to report downed trees and areas of concern with location specifics and details to 250-756-5200 or parkopsdispatch@nanaimo.ca

In addition, Bowen Park is currently without power so all programs are cancelled for March 24. We will update as more information becomes available.
