City accepting applications for 2020 Culture & Heritage Grants

Summary
The City of Nanaimo is now accepting applications from community non-profit culture & heritage organizations seeking financial assistance to support their 2020 operations, projects, or events. Funds are available under two grants:
- 2020 CULTURE & HERITAGE OPERATING GRANTS
- 2020 CULTURE & HERITAGE PROJECT GRANTS
Guidelines, criteria and application forms are available online (www.nanaimo.ca > Culture & Environment > Grants), attached to this news release, in person at the Service & Resource Centre (411 Dunsmuir Street), or by contacting us directly. The deadline for application submission is Tuesday, October 15, 2019 (no later than 4:00 pm).
Link to Strategic Plan: The Culture & Heritage Grants support “Livability” by supporting culture as an integral part of everyday life in Nanaimo. As well, they support the 2014-2020 Cultural Plan for a Creative Nanaimo's strategy to support ongoing and stable core funding to non-profit arts and cultural organizations to enable them to leverage funding from other sources.

- OPERATING GRANTS - Applicants who have received funding in previous years must provide a Final Report within 90 days of the organization's fiscal year end OR before a new funding request is submitted for consideration. Failure to provide final reports on previous year's funding will result in the rejection of new applications.
- PROJECT GRANTS - Applicants who have received funding in previous years MUST provide a complete Final Report within 90 days of the conclusion of the project/event. Failure to provide final reports on previous year's funding will result in the rejection of new applications.
- Applicants completing Final Reports must ensure they are using the correct template labelled "CH Grant Final Report Template", available online (www.nanaimo.ca > Culture & Environment > Grants) or by contacting us directly.
