Council Procedure Bylaw comes into effect this week

New procedures in place for appearing as a delegation

Summary

On November 15, Council's new Procedure Bylaw will come into effect. The bylaw, which provides the governance structure for meeting administration and delegation procedures, has been updated to provide the public with more time to submit a request to appear before Council.

Those interested in appearing before Council or the Committee of the Whole to speak on an agenda item now have until 11:00 am the Monday of the meeting to submit a request to the Legislative Services Department. Delegations unrelated to agenda items will continue to be referred to the Committee of the Whole meetings and the submission deadline of those requests remains unchanged at 10 days prior to the meeting.
