2018 Alternative Approval Process results now available

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is pleased to release the results of the Alternative Approval Process (AAP) to borrow funds for the Fire Station #1 Rebuild.

With a total of 783 responses, elector approval to borrow up to $17 million for the rebuild has been obtained.

Key Points

  • With less than 10 per cent of residents responding to the AAP, Council may now choose to adopt the Fire Station #1 Borrowing Bylaw 2018 No. 7257.
  • For elector approval to not be obtained, at least 10 per cent (or 6,842) of eligible voters needed to respond to the AAP by the deadline of May 4, 2018.
