Beban Park master plan update adopted by Council

Summary

On Monday's Regular Committee of the Whole meeting, Council unanimously adopted the Beban Park Master Plan Update.

The first master plan for Beban Park was developed in 1997. Over the past two years, a master plan update process has been underway to ensure the park meets the current and future recreational needs of the community. The collaborative planning process included involvement from hundreds of citizens and park users and over 25 license and stakeholder groups. Several input sessions, stakeholder interviews and two community surveys took place to help determine how the park could improve in the future.

Implementation of this plan will depend on community partnerships and will be completed in many phases over the long term. Anyone wishing to find out more about the Master Plan Update or process can find the full document on the city’s website.
