Rezoning and OCP Amendment Applications
An Official Community Plan amendment application, to amend a land use designation within the OCP from Neighbourhood to Urban Node, and a Rezoning application, to allow two multi-family residential buildings at 66 Prideaux Street and at 55, 65, 69, and 73 Prideaux Street, both passed third reading.
The OPC and Rezoning amendments, if approved, will allow the Nanaimo Affordable Housing Society to redevelop its properties at 55, 65, 69 and 73 Prideaux Street into a 114-unit housing project; and its property at 66 Prideaux Street into a 44-unit affordable housing project.

General amendments to the City of Nanaimo’s Zoning Bylaw and Parking Bylaw (reflecting 39 text amendments and 19 mapping amendments to the Zoning Bylaw, and 5 text amendments to the Parking Bylaw) passed third reading.
Section 8a
A Housing Agreement Bylaw for 416 Wakesiah Avenue, to authorize a housing agreement for a student housing development, was adopted. The new agreement increases the allowable number of beds from 44 to 117 beds.

Bylaw Contraventions
Bylaw contravention notices were issues on the property titles of 4376 Boban Drive, 5941 Nelson Road, 61 Twelfth Street and 3411 Shenton Road for construction started without a building permit.
