Nanaimo Votes: Options available for voting in 2022 General Local Election

October 15 is General Voting Day

Summary

The 2022 City of Nanaimo General Local Election is just under four weeks away and a number of voting options are available for eligible electors. In addition to 12 places located throughout Nanaimo and on Protection Island on voting day, there are opportunities to vote by mail or on two advance voting days.

Residents wishing to participate in advance voting can do so on Wednesday, October 5 and 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Beban Park Social Centre at 2300 Bowen Road.

The following voting places will be open on General Election Day, October 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  • Chase River Elementary School, 1503 Cranberry Avenue
  • City of Nanaimo Service and Resource Centre, 411 Dunsmuir Street
  • Dover Bay Secondary School, 6135 McGirr Road
  • Georgia Avenue Elementary School, 625 Georgia Avenue
  • Nanaimo District Secondary School, 355 Wakesiah Avenue
  • Protection Island Fire Hall (poll open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), 26 Pirates Lane
  • Randerson Ridge Elementary School, 6021 Nelson Road
  • Salvation Army Church, 505 8th Street
  • Uplands Park Elementary School, 3821 Stronach Drive
  • Wellington Secondary School, 3135 Mexicana Road
  • Woodlands Secondary School, 1270 Strathmore Street

Mail-in ballot voting is available for those expecting to be absent from the advance voting opportunities or on general voting day. Applications are available on the City website or through the City's Legislative Services Department.
