Committees set to resume - Council completes its review.

Summary

On Wednesday, February 4th, Nanaimo City Council met to review options supporting the continuance of the City's 15 committees. Following a review of committee mandates, Council voted to reappoint members using the current structure, with two exceptions - it was decided to combine four previously independent committees into two new committees, Culture and Heritage and Transportation and Planning.

Additional work supporting the future makeup of committees will take place over the next several weeks to fill current openings. Following notification on the City's website, members of the public who are interested in sitting on a committee are encouraged to submit their interest to the City.
