Welcome to the City of Nanaimo

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new position! We look forward to your arrival and are delighted you are joining our City of Nanaimo team.

Before you arrive, we have some important information to share with you about our workplace. Please complete the five online orientation modules outlined below prior to your first day.

Please enter your name and email address at the beginning of each module. Each module takes 5-25 minutes to complete and is submitted separately, which allows you to work at your own pace. You will receive a confirmation email after successfully completing each module.

Occupational Health & Safety

Our people are our most important resource and your safety is paramount to us. Please watch the training video and answer the corresponding questions to help prepare you for your first day, with your health and safety in mind.

As a municipal government employee, it is important you understand legislation governing our organization. Please watch the training video and answer the corresponding questions to learn about the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA).

Policy Review and Acknowledgement

Modules 3, 4 and 5 introduce three policies outlining standards of conduct expected of all our employees. As a condition of employment, employees must agree to abide by these policies. Please review each policy and answer the corresponding questions to acknowledge you have read, understand and will adhere to these policies.
