Broadcasting Council meetings
Council and Committee of the Whole meetings will continue to be recorded and streamed on the City's website and Council meetings will be broadcast on Shaw Channel 4 during the election campaign period.

Affordable Housing Strategy
Nanaimo’s Action Plan to End Homelessness (2018-2023) and the Nanaimo Affordable Housing Strategy were endorsed by Council.

Regulating the Sale of Cannabis
The Zoning Amendment Bylaw to regulate the sale, production, processing and distribution of cannabis within city limits passed third reading. Council provided recommendations to change the space permitted between a cannabis retail establishment and school to 200 metres as well as removed the requirement of a market study.

Committee recommendations
The City’s Chief Administrative Officer, Jake Rudolph, will meet with various advisory committee members as a group. Mayor and Council will continue to fund the Community Policing Services Office building on an annual basis and change its name to the Community Safety Office.

The Nanaimo Baseball Association’s Mosquito Pirates, the Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association’s Mosquito Pirates A and Tadpole Pirates received a total of $1,650 in Travel Assistance Grants to attend the Provincial Championships. The Nanaimo District Lacrosse Peewee A received a Travel Assistant Grant of $850 to attend the 2018 BCLA Minor Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships and Nanaimo District Lacrosse Peewee C received a $700 Travel Assistance Grant to attend the 2018 BC Lacrosse Provincial Championships.

A Water and Sewer Connection Fee Credit Agreement between the Snuneymuxw Nation and the City of Nanaimo was approved.

Development around Nanaimo
A Rezoning Application for a new car dealership at 4900 Island Highway N. will proceed. 

Development Variance Permits were issued for 3680 Lagoon Road, 5757 Turner Road and 6010 and 6020 Linley Valley Drive. 

Zoning Amendments for 4525 and 4461 Wellington Road passed the first two readings.

Liquor License Application
Council endorsed a liquor license application to convert an existing liquor primary club licence at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 256 to a liquor primary licence.

Financial Plan Amendments
The Financial Plan Amendment Bylaw 2018 No. 7253.03 passed three readings. 
Section 9 a

Bylaw Updates
Zoning Amendment Bylaw for 285 Rosehill Street, 311 Selby Street and the Off-Street Parking Regulations Bylaw adopted.
