Thomas Bevin, Chief Executive Officer for the Island Corridor Foundation, provided Council with an update on the state of the Island corridor.

Reports

Council endorsed amendments to the “Video Surveillance of Civic Property Policy” (Policy COU-223).
Section 12a

“Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw 2025 No. 7429” (a bylaw to exempt certain land and buildings from taxation) passed three readings.
Section 12b

Council directed staff to expand cleaning services in the south end of Nanaimo as outlined in option 1 of the staff report South End Cleanliness.
Section 12c

Council directed staff to provide a letter of concurrence to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada for a proposed 32m tall telecommunications facility at 1724 Northfield Road.
Section 12d

An application to rezone a portion of 2221 Bowen Road, to align with a boundary adjustment subdivision for future development at 2230 Northfield Road, passed three readings.
