Food Security Working Group
Council approved the establishment of a new sub-committee of the Health and Housing Task Force, dedicated to food security, and endorsed the Food Security Working Group guidelines.
Section 7 a

Financial Plan & Property Taxes
Amendments to the 2020-2024 Financial Plan and property tax rates for 2020 passed three readings, and were adopted.
Sections 8 a,b

Borrowing Funds
The Millstone Trunk South sanitary sewer DCC project will borrow $672,600 of internal funds with repayment to come from sewer operations.
Section 8 c

Up to $406,585 will be borrowed through the Municipal Finance Authority’s Equipment Financing Program for the purchase of an additional automated garbage truck.

Green Fleet Strategy
Council has adopted a Green Fleet Strategy which aims to reduce fuel consumption, increase the use of alternative fuels and develop an electric vehicle charging plan for vehicles in the City’s fleet.

Advocacy
Council adopted an Advocacy Framework and will be referring it to the Health and Housing Task Force’s sub-committee for feedback.
Section 8 g

Capital Projects
Council identified the following capital projects for future potential stimulus programs and advocacy opportunities:

  • Waterfront Walkway – Departure Bay
  • South End Community Centre
  • RCMP Facility
  • Public Works Facility
  • Fire Training Centre
  • Terminal-Nicol Reimagined
  • Wakesiah Corridor

Section 8 h

Letter of Support
A letter will be sent in support of the City of Vancouver’s request to the Honourable David Eby, MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey, supporting businesses by making liquor licensing more flexible.
