Salmon on the Bridge celebrates the importance of salmon in our world. Six aluminium salmon cutouts are placed on the bridge in Maffeo Sutton Park. Each of the salmon cutouts has smaller feeder fish cutouts (herring, sardines, etc.) within them to show their interconnectedness. The centre of the bridge features a herring ball that all of the salmon are swimming toward. Together these species play a fundamental role in our ecosystem. The artist painted smaller salmon with hydrophobic (water repellant) paint along the top of the bridge to highlight the importance of rain to the fish's life cycle.
