Funding for Chase River Pump Station
A total of $4,915,000 will be borrowed from the DCC City Wide Drainage Reserve to fund the Chase River Pump Station and Forcemain project and will be paid back over 20 years at an interest rate of 2%.

Sewer for Morningside Drive 
A sanitary sewer along Morningside Drive has been approved provided the property owners sign a formal petition to contribute $12,200 per lot towards the cost of extending the service.

Disposition of Nanaimo River Road Land 
The sale of an old right-of-way for the Greater Nanaimo Water District Lands for $16,500 to Lafarge Canada Inc. was approved.

Development around Nanaimo
A rezoning application for 215 Sabiston Road passed two readings. Development permits were issued for 20 Barsby Avenue, 3598 Norwell Drive and 3425 Uplands Drive.

Council endorsed the implementation strategy for the BC Energy Step Code.
Section 10 h

Reviewing Supervised Consumption Services
The Community Planning and Development Committee and the Public Safety Committee will review zoning bylaw amendments related to Supervised Consumption Services.

Daytime Drop-in Resource Centre
Mayor McKay will send a letter to Mr. Leonard Krog, MLA, regarding the City of Nanaimo’s request for financial support from the Provincial Government for a daytime drop-in resource centre for homeless individuals in Nanaimo.

The Cannabis Task Force provided their recommendations regarding the regulation of production, distribution, and consumption of cannabis in the City of Nanaimo.

Bylaw Updates
The Zoning Amendment Bylaw (2018 No. 4500.121 and 4500.117), and the Park Dedication Bylaw 2018 No. 7259 were adopted.
