Be Bear Aware
Did you know? Garbage is the attractant in 50% of problem bear calls in BC. Food-conditioned bears are a safety threat to both bears and humans. We need to eliminate the attraction of garbage and organic waste.
To protect bears and other wildlife please:
Hundreds of bears are euthanized in B.C. each year due to human-wildlife conflicts. Placing carts out the night before collection day is an offence under the BC Wildlife Act. Bear sightings in urban areas should be reported to the Conservation Officer Service (1-877-952-7277).

Are you effectively utilizing your Blue and Green Carts? Are you certain everything you are sorting into your Black Cart are actually accepted materials? Many household items must be taken to an appropriate drop-off location in order to be disposed of.
