Partners in a Cleaner Community Program

Mar 22, 2017

The City of Nanaimo is expanding its Partners in a Cleaner Community program and is inviting new non-profit groups to sign up. The groups will participate in a City wide litter picking program. The program will help groups raise funds and gain recognition while making Nanaimo a cleaner, more attractive community. Also, for the first time ever, the City is inviting for profit organizations to join in. These organizations are welcome to apply to take part and help keep Nanaimo Clean (these groups will not be paid).

The Cleaner Community Partnership Program is an excellent example of what the City and the Community can achieve by working together. The City's streets are given a good spring clean and in turn the valuable work of non profit groups in our community is highlighted and supported. This year we have chosen to welcome businesses to the program. We did this because several businesses who want to give back to their community got in touch and asked to join in. It's an excellent way to look after our community and with Earth Day coming up on Saturday, April 22 it's a great time to get involved.

The deadline to sign up is Friday, March 24 at 4:30 pm.
