Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy

The provincially legislated Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act was established to make public bodies more accountable and transparent to the public and to protect personal privacy.

Any person who makes a request has a right of access to any 'record' (with certain exceptions) in the custody or under the control of a public body. This includes records containing your own personal information. If you are requesting personal information about another person please have them complete and sign a consent to disclosure of personal information and provide it with your printed form.

Routinely available records do not require a formal request. Please check our List of Routinely Available Records to see if a formal request is required.

If you wish to make a formal request for access to records under FOIPPA, you may do so by filling out the electronic application form, or printing and returning your application for access to records to:
