Press Release: Council Adopts New Fire Protection & Life Safety Bylaw No. 7108 to Improve Fire Safety in the City.
The purpose of the new bylaw is to replace the older version, originally established in the early 1990s.

Burning Regulations
The City of Nanaimo has modified its regulations on Open Air Burning.
Please note: Fires that generate smoke that becomes a persistent offensive nuisance shall be ordered extinguished.
