Working in City Streets and Rights-of-Way

Businesses, contractors, residents, wishing to work within the City streets, boulevards, rights-of-way, sidewalks, lanes must be permitted to do so. This includes the placement of work equipment on the City streets such as scaffolding, dumpsters, cranes and other work equipment.

The City requires compliance with Engineering Standards and road safety construction guidelines when working in these areas. The City of Nanaimo requires a Working in City Streets and Rights-of-Way Permit for anyone working on City roads and rights-of-way.
