Point-in-Time Counts

The Nanaimo Homelessness Coalition has conducted a number of censuses of homeless individuals, most recently in March 2020. Information was gathered on individuals' gender, age, ethnicity, observed health issues, family status, sources of income and length of residency in Nanaimo. For the purposes of the censuses, homeless individuals were defined as those who did not have a permanent residence they could return to whenever they chose.
