Using the Nanaimo Crime Map

The Nanaimo Crime Map contains data on property crime across the city and breaks the incidents down into individual neighbourhoods all in an easy to use map. With the Crime Map, you can search any Nanaimo neighbourhood for recent and historical incidents. 


The uploaded data contains no personal information and locations that are displayed have been generalized to the nearest street midpoint or intersection. The crime map shows information and locations for the following types of property crimes:

  • Break and Enter
  • Mischief
  • Shoplifting
  • Theft
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Other

Each incident shown will include the location, area, crime type, occurence, reported time and file number. You can filter your search by clicking on the "Show Filters" link above the map and then choosing your desired filters.



You can also share incidents and download data uploaded to the Crime Map. The information is uploaded by the Nanaimo RCMP on a regular basis. The Crime Map can be found on the City website and more information can be found here.
