Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Traffic Service Person. Under the general supervision of a Supervisor, the incumbent performs the work involved in the manufacture, assembly, and erection of street and traffic signs, combined with the laying out and application of traffic markings in compliance with City of Nanaimo Standards and Specifications, Uniform Traffic Control Devices of Canada Manual, the Motor Vehicle Act, and applicable bylaws.

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 and Sign and Pavement Marking Technician, Level 1 Certification (IMSA), valid Traffic Control Person Certificate and a minimum of 1 year traffic related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position.  $35.09 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2021 Rate), based on a 40 hour work week.  A comprehensive benefit package is included.
