Steno - Bylaw

As a result of a retirement, the City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Steno - Bylaw. The incumbent provides clerical and administrative support to the Bylaw Services Division and assists the general public both by telephone and in person.

Applicants must have completed Grade 12, plus a minimum 6 month Applied Business Technology or Administrative Assistant training program at an accredited educational institution (e.g. VIU or Sprott Shaw). A minimum of 2 years’ related experience is required; however, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a unionized position. $30.74 per hour - after Probation (Jul 2016 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week. A comprehensive benefit package is included.
