Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Economic Prosperity & Resilience. Reporting to the Director, Community Development, the Manager, Economic Prosperity & Resilience, is responsible for managing the delivery of the City of Nanaimo’s economic health commitments under the City’s Strategic Plan, including the internal economic development function and managing the Tourism Nanaimo contract.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ related experience including 3 years in a management supervisory role in a local government setting is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Membership in, or eligibility for membership in the British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) is required for this position. A certificate in Local Government Administration would be considered an asset. Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
