The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Community & Cultural Planning. The Manager, Community & Cultural Planning is responsible for a broad range of policy programs and services including community planning, heritage planning, social planning and the City’s arts and culture program. The Manager will provide advice, guidance and direction on community and cultural planning to City Council, Council Committees, associated bodies and senior staff.

Applicants must have a masters or university degree in Planning or a related field. A minimum of 5 years related experience in municipal planning and administration, including 3 years in a management or supervisory role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Applicants must be eligible for membership in the Planning Institute of British Columbia/Canadian Institute of Planners, have a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Compensation and Benefits
This is an Excluded position and a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package is included.
