Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary part-time Lifeguard/Instructor. The incumbent will carry out lifeguarding/instructional duties and will be responsible for the supervision and control of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.

Requirements

Applicants will have completed grade 10, and have the following qualifications:

  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
  • C.P.R. “C” Certification
  • National Lifeguard Certification (Pool Option)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position ranging from $18.58 - $19.56 per hour (Jul 2016 Rate). It is anticipated that this vacancy will be up to 10 months in duration.  Evening and weekend shifts are required.
