Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking four temporary full-time Lifeguard/Instructors. The incumbents will carry out lifeguarding/instructional duties and will be responsible for the supervision and control of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.

Requirements

Applicants will have completed grade 10, and have the following qualifications:

  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
  • C.P.R. “C” Certification
  • National Lifeguard Certification (Pool Option)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Compensation and Benefits

These are unionized positions, $18.58 - $19.56 per hour (Jul 2016 Rate), based on a 40 hour work week. It is anticipated that these vacancies will be up to 9 months in duration. Extensive weekend and evening work may be required in addition to weekday shifts.
