The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Invoice Clerk. Under the direction of the Manager of Accounting Services, the Invoice Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices prior to payment. This requires thorough understanding of the electronic purchasing and accounts payable systems. A good understanding of the general ledger as it relates to coding and signing authority is necessary.

Completion of Grade 12 and completion of a basic accounting course at a recognized College or University (equivalent to Accounting 100 – Financial Accounting 1 at Vancouver Island University) is required as well as a minimum of 3 months’ related accounting office experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a unionized position. $28.63 per hour - after Probation (Jul 2016 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week. A comprehensive benefit package is included.
