Collections Clerk (Temporary Full-Time)

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Collections Clerk. Under the general supervision of the Revenue Supervisor, the Collections Clerk is responsible for checking and approving daily cash reports, processing NSF payments, and for the accounting and distribution of city garbage tags. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for all tax sale adjustments.

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 plus first level accounting/finance courses at a recognized College or University (equivalent to ACCT 100 (Financial Accounting I) and ACCT 201 (Financial Accounting II) and FNCE 130 (Intro to Finance)). A minimum of 2 years related experience in a variety of accounting practices including experience with account reconciliation and cash balancing is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a unionized position. $30.19 - $31.78 per hour (Jul 2016 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week. It is anticipated that this vacancy will be up to one year in duration.
