Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo’s Police Services is seeking a casual Court Liaison Clerk.

Under the direction of the Manager of Police Operational Support, the Court Liaison Clerk is responsible to act as liaison between the RCMP and all court-related agencies, for the electronic submission and quality assurance of court documents and the ongoing maintenance of all court files from the Nanaimo Detachment. 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Requirements

Applicants must have completed Grade 12, plus basic police officer training and a minimum of 4 years’ operational policing experience and training in court, police, and municipal procedures. Attainment and maintenance of a Commissioner for taking affidavits in British Columbia designation and Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Special Provincial Constable designation for document service are both required. Applicants must also possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and have authority to operate police vehicles.

Attainment and maintenance of RCMP Reliability/Security Clearance is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position starting at $31.22 per hour. Shiftwork including weekend shifts will be involved. There are no guaranteed minimum hours associated with this position.
