Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking Casual Arena Maintenance Workers (Zamboni Operators).  Incumbents will perform ice resurfacing; monitor the Arena’s physical plant and maintain building security; janitorial maintenance; handyman duties and assist the public in their use of the facilities.

Applicants will have completed Grade 12, and have the following qualifications:

•    Building Service Worker - Level 1

•    5th Class Power Engineers Refrigeration Certificate

•    Minimum 6 months’ related experience

•    Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Compensation and Benefits

These are unionized positions, $30.99 - $32.62 per hour (Jan 2019 Rate).  There are no guaranteed hours associated with these positions.
