The City of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Applications Analyst. Under the direction of the Manager, IT Application Services or work group supervisor, the Applications Analyst develops, designs, implements, and supports the City’s mission critical business applications. While focusing on one or more areas of specialization, the incumbent participates as a member of development teams in other specialty areas. This position has the following areas of specialization:
Programming - enterprise application development and sustainment
Application Sustainment - sustainment and administration of municipal software systems

Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, GIS, or directly-related area of study and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in one of the areas of specialization: programming, geospatial, database, or application sustainment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory criminal record check.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a unionized position. $40.71 - $42.85 per hour (Jan 2022 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week. It is anticipated that this vacancy will be up to one year in duration.
