Closed captioning of meetings
A recommendation will be going to Council for the implementation of closed captioning for meeting recordings. The recommendation includes budgeting $22,400 for the annual license fee along with a one-time fee of $2,900 for implementation and training.

AVICC Hosting
A recommendation will be going to Council to submit an application to host the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities 2020 Annual Convention. If the application is successful, funding of up to $15,174 will be budgeted for it in 2020.

Permissive Tax Exemptions
A recommendation will be going to Council for permissive tax exemptions to be awarded to the following organizations: the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society, the Let Me Be Me Learning Foundation, the Nanaimo 7-10 Club Society and the Nanaimo Region John Howard Society.

Funding Request for MIBI
A recommendation will be going to Council for $48,000 to be allocated to the Mid-Island Business Initiative for the Manufacturing Technology & Entrepreneurship Council program.

Special Finance & Audit Meeting
A Special Finance & Audit Meeting will be held on April 15 to discuss the possible creation of a new permanent position in the Community Development Department and other budget adjustments.
