Update on Process
Dr. Alina Turner, CEO HelpSeeker, gave a verbal presentation regarding the process for the Health and Housing Task Force.
Section 5 b

Additional Reaching Home COVID Funding
Lisa Murphy, Director, Medical Health Services Unit, Island Health, provided a verbal update regarding the Federal Governments additional Reaching Home COVID funding.
Section 5 c

Emergency Food and Nutrition Security Strategy
Staff gave a presentation to provide the Health and Housing Task Force with the Emergency Food and Nutrition Strategy along with implementation actions for the Task Force to consider recommending to Council.

A recommendation will be going to Council to endorse the Emergency Food and Nutrition Strategy as formal stakeholder input into the REIMAGINE NANAIMO process; and, support the creation of a Nanaimo Food Policy Council as an independent, arms-length body that would continue collaborative work to strengthen the local food system and request that Staff bring forward a report on how the City can facilitate this work.
